COMPOSITION

The Eau de Parfum draws inspiration from the original Parfum, sharing the same floral aldehyde signature.
This elegant floral bouquet is built around May Rose and Jasmine, illuminated by fresh citrus top notes.
Aldehydes create a distinctive and unforgettable presence, while the smooth touch of Vanilla leaves an incredibly sensual and lingering trail.

INSPIRATION

In 1921, Gabrielle Chanel asked perfumer Ernest Beaux to create “a woman’s perfume with a woman’s scent” — rare, powerful, and unlike anything before.
The perfumer presented a visionary composition with an unprecedented use of aldehydes.
Mademoiselle Chanel selected the fifth sample and named it simply N°5.

For this fragrance, she chose a revolutionary bottle design, featuring a clean silhouette, a white label, and a faceted cabochon stopper.
In 1986, Jacques Polge, CHANEL’s perfumer since 1978, reinterpreted this iconic composition to create a richer and more modern expression: N°5 Eau de Parfum.
